Consultation at the Clinic
Our consultations at the Child Health Clinic Amsterdam follow a set schedule.
The appointment with the nurse takes 20 minutes. If you need a joint appointment with the doctor, then it takes two times 15 minutes. The child is always weighed and measured and, based on the Van Wiechen schedule (similar to the Bailey scale), the child’s development is monitored. The appointment allows for plenty of time to ask questions. If you wish to have your baby weighed outside of regular appointments, you can make an appointment on Wednesday and Friday afternoons from 15:00-15:30.

Follow up appointments – Planning or changing appointments.
In principle, your next appointment is made after each visit. If you want to change your appointment, you can call the SAG/JGZ appointment desk at number 020-5814080, on working days from 08:30 -12:00 and from 13:00-16:30. If you are unable to attend your appointment, it will be very much appreciated if you let us know 24 hours in advance.

Consultation by phone for questions
A SAG/JGZ youth health nurse is available daily for consultations by phone between 13:30-14:30. For this, you can call 020-5814080

Weighing appointments
If you wish to have your baby weighed in between the regular consultations, you can make an appointment for Wednesday and Friday between 15:00-15:30 hours. For these appointments, you also call the SAG/JGZ appointment desk at 020-5814080, on working days from 8:30-12:00 and from 13:00-16:30 hours.

The 22-week vaccination
The 22-week vaccination against whooping cough is offered to pregnant women free of charge by the Dutch National Immunisation Programme. Vaccination during pregnancy protects women and their babies until they are three months old.
