Information about giving birth
We value to guide you in your preparation of labour that suits you. We advice to watch the follow short video’s in which they explain all aspects of the process of giving birth. For those of you who speak a little bit Dutch, see our home made ones! In this way you can watch the videos at your convenience and together with your partner you will have sufficient tools to go through the process together.
We always schedule an extended appointment between 32-36 weeks to discuss the birth process with you and your partner individually. Prior to this consultation, we provide more information about preparing your birthing preferences. We value doing this individually rather than with other couples, because every personal situation and wishes for childbirth are unique.
If you would like to have this consultation earlier, this is always possible.
We also recommend attending a course at our course center, for optimal preparation for the process and useful practical tips.
Information session about breastfeeding
Every month we organize an information session regarding breastfeeding. Marieke van Luin, from Mamma Minds, is our highly experienced lactation consultant IBCLC. She presents all the information you need to be well prepared for the postpartum period. Also for partners a fun and informative meeting! The following topics will be discussed:
- The uniqueness of breastmilk
- Latching the baby onto the breast
- Breastfeeding during the postnatal maternity week
- Difficult breastfeeding situations
- The role of the partner
Costs
The breastfeeding information session is €35 per pregnant woman; partners are free (receive payment info via our assistant after subscription)
Location
The information session will be hosted in our course centre, above the child health clinic: De Genestetstraat 3-1. The door is open.
