Safe pain relief
ELLE birth TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Neuro Stimulation) is a natural, safe and effective way to relief the experience of labor. The TENS stimulates the production of endorphins, the body’s own pain-relieving hormone. Through the stickers on your lower back, which are connected to the device you operate yourself, you feel soft tingles. These tingling sensations distract the pain stimulus transmission to your brain. This will decrease the perception of the pain of the contractions and you might be able to relax more easily.
Besides being used during childbirth, the TENS is also used by doctors for other pain conditions. The TENS has been scientifically proven to relieve your pain.

The use of TENS is not recommended with:

Renting a TENS
You can rent a ELLE 2 TENS for €45. You will receive it from us at your pregnancy check-up around 39 weeks. The package includes the device and everything you need to use it during your labor. We will pick up the TENS again during the postpartum period. If you go into labor earlier than 39 weeks, we’ll bring the TENS for you when we visit you during labor.

How can I reserve the TENS?
As soon as you know you want to use the TENS during your delivery, you can reserve it via the request form. You can also let your midwife know during your pregnancy check-up or contact the assistant 020-6831640 or email assistentes@geboortecentrum.nl.
